Study Trip

This year's study trip will be a visit to the company GridLab - the European Training and Research Centre for Power Systems Security. Register now as the event is limited to 40 people only!

It will take place on Friday, 14 November 2014 and is considered a full-day event. GridLab is located in Cottbus, around 120km south-east of Berlin with a travel time of about 1.5 - 2.0 hours by bus.

Use this opportunity to learn more about GridLab while networking with peers from the workshop.

08:00am Bus departure from the entrance of the Estrel Hotel
10:00am Introduction GridLab (Dr. Bernd Benser, CBO / Dr. Matthias Müller-Mienack, Technical Head)
10:15am Lecture “Decarbonisation in Germany and related Grid Operation†(Dr. Matthias Müller-Mienack, Technical Head)
11:00am Introduction GridLab Dispatcher System (PSI Compact System), (Dipl.-Ing. Steve Sangl, System Engineer of Subdivision)
11:15am Presentation of wind scenario (Dipl.-Ing. Steve Sangl, System Engineer of Subdivision)
11:45am Discussion
12:45am Short visit of the GridLab Training & Research Centre
01:30pm Packed lunch & bus ride back to Berlin. A stop at the Airport Berlin Schönefeld (SXF) can be arranged, if requested.
03:00/3:30pm Arrival at the Estrel Hotel
 

Registration:

The study trip is not included in the general registration fee. If you would like to participate, please register for it on our registration platform.

As the number of seats for the study trip is limited to 40 people, tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. The price is 83.30 Euros incl. VAT (70 Euros excl. VAT).

All participants of the study trip will get transportation by bus between the conference hotel and GridLab in Cottbus. Packed lunch is also included and will be taken on the bus when returning to Berlin.

Please do not forget to bring your study trip voucher which will be handed to you during the workshop registration.
